TAKAMUL IV - Fund for Capacitating and Strengthening the Syrian Civil Society and Supporting Social Cohesion
The BMZ-funded GIZ BRIDGE project “Strengthening the Capacity of Syrian Civil Society” is launching the fourth round of the TAKAMUL Fund (TAKAMUL IV). The fund aims to strengthen Syrian civil society and promote social cohesion and peaceful coexistence across social, ethnic and religious differences.
TAKAMUL IV is based on a TANDEM approach. Projects are jointly implemented by a civil society organisation registered in Germany and working in the Syrian context as the main applicant and at least one a local civil society organisation in Syria as the co-applicant. Projects can be implemented nationwide across Syria and must follow a local approach that strengthens social cohesion and peaceful coexistence at the community level.
Application Deadline: 8 November 2026, 23:59 (Damascus Time).

Information event: funding opportunities for civil society engagement in the reconstruction of Syria
To assist with the application process, two virtual information sessions on the TAKAMUL IV call for proposals and on the assessment of commercial and legal eligibility (KEP) will be held, organized by the “A New Beginning for Syria” platform:
- October 7, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (CET) on TAKAMUL IV
- October 12, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (CET) on KEP
The events will be held in English and Arabic with simultaneous interpretation.
